This is a highly venomous female Bornean Keeled Pit Viper. Females grow larger than males, attaining up to around 1 metre in size. They are exclusively arboreal, inhabiting lowland and coastal forests at heights ranging from low to vegetation to mid-canopy levels. Their diet comprises of rodents and birds. This female was found mid-canopy of a tree near a swamp.
