The Murray River Turtle inhabits the Murray-Darling River system in south-east Australia. Their skin is greyish in colour with a distinctive creamy-yellow stripe running along the side of its head. They feed mostly on molluscs, crustaceans and sometimes carrion. Adults tend to eat larger proportions of vegetables, fruits and water plants.
