Meet the female Mangrove Pit-viper, as her name suggests she was found in the mangroves of Singapore however may also be found in coastal forests. They have a reputation for being unpredictable and may strike any threat without prior warning and therefore should be approached with extreme caution. Their haemotoxic venom can cause serious illness or even death. I marched my way through the mud of the mangroves to get up-close to this beautiful snake and wanted to show off its dark brown/purply scales and orangey/brown eyes.
